Our Complete 8‑Stage Injector Service Process
1. Benchmark Testing — Establishing a True Baseline
Every injector is tested exactly as received to document its initial condition . We perform:
-
80 psi leak‑down testing to identify stuck pintles or sealing issues
Static flow testing to measure raw output
-
Dynamic flow testing from 600 to 10,000 RPM to simulate real engine operation
All results are recorded and included in your final report .
2. Electrical OHM Testing
We verify each injector’s electrical integrity using a multimeter to confirm proper resistance and continuity. This identifies failed or shorted injectors before cleaning begins .
3. Disassembly — Filters, O‑Rings, and Caps Removed
All internal filters, O‑rings, and pintle caps are removed and never reused. These components degrade over time and must be replaced with new OEM‑spec parts .
4. External Ultrasonic Cleaning
Injectors undergo a three‑stage ultrasonic cleaning cycle to remove carbon, varnish, and debris from the exterior body. High‑frequency cavitation penetrates cracks, recesses, and blind holes for a deep clean .
5. Internal Ultrasonic Cleaning (Pulsed Bath)
Injectors are pulsed inside a heated ultrasonic bath at varying intensities to remove internal deposits and restore proper pintle movement .
6. Post‑Cleaning Flow Verification
Injectors are reinstalled on the test bench to verify:
-
Flow rate
-
Spray pattern
-
Atomization quality
-
Leak‑down performance
Static and dynamic tests confirm whether the injector meets spec. If not, the cleaning cycle is repeated .
7. Calibration Fluid Testing
We use industry‑standard calibration fluid, not gasoline, to ensure accurate and repeatable results. Flow rates are calculated using SouthBay’s calibration fluid at 20°C, 3.0 Bar, 13.8V, matched against EPA test gasoline standards .
8. Reassembly With New OEM Components
All removed components are replaced with brand‑new OEM‑spec parts designed specifically for your injector model .
