At SouthBay Fuel Injectors, we understand the importance of fuel injector maintenance for achieving peak engine performance and fuel efficiency, especially with the introduction of ethanol in today's gasoline. We believe that off-the-car fuel injector cleaning is a crucial routine that should not be overlooked.

Unlike "out-of-the-can" cleaning products that only provide a temporary fix and can potentially introduce sediment and dirt into the delicate filter inside each fuel injector, our professional cleaning service ensures a thorough restoration of 100 percent of the injector's function.

Our process involves utilizing the latest ASNU Flow Bench's, which are known for their accuracy and reliability. Through this proven process, we clean fuel injectors and restore them to their 100 percent original condition. We go beyond just cleaning by replacing all necessary parts, including o-rings, pintle caps, spacers, and filters.

By choosing our services, you can enjoy the benefits of professionally cleaned fuel injectors at a fraction of the cost of buying new or rebuilt ones. We prioritize quality and take pride in our ability to bring your fuel injectors back to optimal performance.

To summarize, our services include:

  • Thorough off-the-car fuel injector cleaning
  • Restoration of 100 percent of the injector's function
  • Replacement of all necessary parts, including o-rings, pintle caps, spacers, and filters
  • Utilization of the latest ASNU Flow Bench's for accurate and reliable cleaning
  • Cost-effective solution compared to purchasing new or rebuilt fuel injectors

At SouthBay Fuel Injectors, we are committed to providing the best fuel injector maintenance services to ensure your engine's performance and fuel efficiency.

Benchmark test injectors

At SouthBay Fuel Injectors, we understand the importance of setting a benchmark to accurately compare the before and after results of our fuel injector cleaning service. That's why we have a comprehensive testing process in place.

When injectors arrive at our shop, we subject them to a thorough test bench evaluation. This evaluation includes testing for leakage at 80 psi to identify any potential issues with the injectors. We also conduct both static and dynamic flow tests to measure their fuel flow rates.

During the testing process, we meticulously record all the results, including the leakage test and the static and dynamic flow rates. These results will be compiled and included in your service report.

OHM test injectors for maximum electrical performance

One of the best ways to check for faulty injectors is to use a multi-tester, sometimes called a multi-meter. Testing continuity by using the OHM setting will tell you if the connection through injector is within normal limits or if it has opened and is no longer useable.

Remove internal filters, O-rings and pintle caps

External parts and filters tend to deteriorate with time and extreme operating conditions and stress from everyday use. Never reuse these parts.

Clean external injector body ultrasonically

Ultrasonic cleaning is indeed a widely used method that utilizes the power of high-frequency pressure waves to agitate a liquid, creating cavitation bubbles. These bubbles generate intense forces that effectively remove contaminants from various substrates such as metals, plastics, and ceramics.

The principle behind ultrasonic cleaning involves the penetration of blind holes, cracks, and recesses, ensuring a thorough removal of contaminants that may be tightly adhering or embedded onto solid surfaces. The agitation and collapse of the cavitation bubbles create a scrubbing action that dislodges and disintegrates the contaminants.

Clean fuel injector internally with ultrasonic technology

The principle behind ultrasonic cleaning involves the penetration of blind holes, cracks, and recesses, ensuring a thorough removal of contaminants that may be tightly adhering or embedded onto solid surfaces. The agitation and collapse of the cavitation bubbles create a scrubbing action that dislodges and disintegrates the contaminants.

The equipment used in ultrasonic cleaning typically operates within a frequency range of 20–400 kHz. The specific frequency depends on the application and the type of contaminants being targeted. Additionally, an appropriate cleaning solvent is chosen based on the nature of the contaminants and the material being cleaned.

Flow test to verify proper atomization and injector flow characteristics

Ultrasonic cleaning has proven to be highly effective in achieving deep cleaning and removing even stubborn contaminants. Its ability to reach difficult-to-access areas makes it a valuable technique in various industries, including automotive, medical, electronics, and more.

By utilizing ultrasound and the appropriate cleaning solvent, ultrasonic cleaning provides a thorough and efficient method for removing contamination from solid surfaces, resulting in improved cleanliness and performance.

Use the best fuel injector calibration fluid

At SouthBay Fuel Injectors, we prioritize accuracy and precision in our testing procedures. To ensure reliable results, we use only the best calibration fluid in all of our test equipment. This calibration fluid is carefully selected to closely mimic the properties of gasoline without actually using gasoline itself.

Specific gravity is an important measurement used in our testing process. It refers to the ratio of the density of a substance to the density (mass of the same unit volume) of a reference substance. In our case, the reference substance is gasoline. By comparing the specific gravity of the calibration fluid to that of gasoline, we can accurately assess the performance of the fuel injectors.

To maintain consistency, all of our tests are conducted using SouthBay's Calibration Fluid at a controlled temperature of 20°C (±1°C), pressure of 3.0 Bar (±0.01 Bar), and a voltage of 13.8VDC (±0.05VDC). The injectors are tested using a saturated driver with an RC cutoff to ensure accurate and reliable results.

Reassemble Injectors

At SouthBay Fuel Injectors, we take pride in providing a comprehensive and thorough cleaning process for fuel injectors. As part of this process, we replace all the parts that are removed from the injector prior to the external cleaning.

When disassembling the injectors, we carefully remove components such as filter baskets, O-rings, spacers, and seals. These parts are then replaced with new OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts that are specifically fitted to your particular injector model. We prioritize using the highest quality parts available to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

For older style injectors with a metal body, we go the extra mile to protect against rust and prolong the injector's lifespan. These injectors receive a coat of high-temperature ceramic, which acts as a protective barrier to hold down rust and enhance durability.

By replacing worn or damaged parts with new OEM components and applying a high-temp ceramic coating to metal-bodied injectors, we ensure that your fuel injectors are restored to their optimal condition. Our goal is to provide you with fuel injectors that perform reliably and effectively, while also extending their overall lifespan.

At SouthBay Fuel Injectors, we are committed to delivering a comprehensive cleaning process that goes beyond just external cleaning. By replacing necessary parts and providing additional protection for metal-bodied injectors, we strive to provide you with fuel injectors that meet the highest standards of quality and longevity.
